Technician Polymer R&D
As an Technician Polymer R&D you are responsible for the labscale manufacturing of InnoCore’s SynBiosys® and InGell® biodegradable polymers. In addition, you are responsible for the development, optimization, and implementation of reproducible and well-scalable syntheses processes, under supervision of a Scientist Polymer R&D, and to continuously improve and expand InnoCore’s polymer platforms.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to) autonomously set up, plan, execute, and coordinate all steps in the synthesis of R&D and GLP grade polymers to support analytical method-, formulation-, process-, and polymer development work and interpret the test results. You work on several projects in parallel as part of multiple project teams and in close collaboration with InnoCore´s clients and you ensure timely delivery of polymers and documentation. You report to the Director Operations.
The challenge
As a Technician Polymer R&D you:
- Plan and execute manufacturing of R&D and GLP polymer according to the Work Instructions or Scientific Study Design and you interpret, report and present the results in an accurate, comprehensive way.
- Support the Scientist Polymer R&D with the development, optimization, and implementation of syntheses processes.
- Work together and effectively collaborate with Technicians, Engineers and Scientists of the different departments in cross-functional project teams led by a Project Manager.
- Ensure, together with other members of the Polymer Department, that the manufactured products meet their specifications.
- Perform analyses on stability samples, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products and support the Analytical Department with the development of analytical methods
- Perform troubleshooting on equipment and processes and initiate corrective actions.
- Assist the Scientist Polymer R&D with the selection and evaluation of new equipment and execute installation, qualification, calibration and/or maintenance activities.
- Identify, design and ensure compliance with company procedures and actively contribute to operational excellence initiatives.

Skills and competencies
In addition to having a BSc or MSc degree in (polymer) chemistry, and at least 3 years of working experience preferably obtained in a GMP environment, you:
- Have a good knowledge of polymer synthesis.
- Can work in both an R&D and GMP environment.
- Have strong research and analytical skills.
- Share information in an effective manner and ask questions prior to taking action.
- Have a drive to get things done and you efficiently and accurately perform and interpret experiments.
- Look for opportunities to develop your skills and add some new ones.
